Leslie is a people person, and she has been matching people with careers in construction dating back to 2007 when she began recruiting, training and development for a construction management firm.  Since 2014 Leslie has focused specifically on talent development for the electrical industry, coming to Royal in 2020 as our Talent Development Director.

Leslie believes in finding the right people for Royal, making sure they can advance the company culture and values while having the skill sets needed to perform the role, and in creating training pathways so employees thrive.  In both her previous and current position, Leslie has developed foremen training programs, interview and onboarding workflows, electrical assessments to gauge skill sets in the trade, and the implementation of training opportunities to advance careers.  Her passion to create these programs revolves around supporting employees who have potential and a drive to be great, and ensuring Royal has the talent to continuously grow and best serve our clients.

In addition to her recruiting, interviewing and onboarding experience, Leslie has spent many years building relationships and networking with professionals in the construction industry. She currently sits on the Western Electrical Contractors Association (WECA) Apprenticeship Training Committee and the Associated General Contractors Construction Education Foundation (AGC CEF) Board. She’s also active in the Construction Industry Resource Training Network (CIRTN), a large peer group with members in the talent development, learning development, and human resources fields within the construction industry.

In addition to these affiliations, Leslie does volunteer work aligned around teaching local youth about the career opportunities in construction, by working with the Sacramento Regional Builders’ Exchange (SRBX), Build California, and participating in various events for high schools and trade schools.

Outside the office, Leslie loves spending time with her family and their two dogs. She enjoys traveling, wine tasting, hitting local restaurants, riding quads, decorating, and hosting parties for friends. A former college softball athlete, she loves watching other sports, including college football, and tries to get to a Notre Dame game at least once a year. She also enjoys watching her son’s high school football games.
